Editorial Policy
Authorship
All medical and clinical content on this site is authored or reviewed by Dr Christopher Irwin (MBChB, FRACGP, Master of Medicine — Skin Cancer), founder of The Skin Doctor. Articles drawing on the work of other clinicians at our practice attribute the lead author and the reviewer on the page.
Review process
Every medical page carries a “Last reviewed” date. Pages are reviewed at least every 18 months, and immediately when material new evidence becomes available or when clinical practice changes.
Sources & citations
Medical claims are supported by references where appropriate — most commonly RACGP and NHMRC clinical practice guidelines, peer-reviewed literature, and Australian regulatory bodies (TGA, AHPRA). DOIs are linked where available.
Conflicts of interest
Where treatments or equipment we use are referenced, we disclose any commercial or institutional relationships at the page level. We do not accept payment for editorial coverage.
Corrections
