The combined pathway uses VECTRA® WB360 3D mapping at Diamond Creek plus 2D mapping and a 40-minute doctor skin check at Ivanhoe — the most precise baseline and the most practical long-term monitoring. The Diamond Creek scan can be on the same day as the Ivanhoe appointment (at least 4 hours apart) or on a different day. Our staff securely transfer your images electronically between clinics.

Steps
- 01
Book Diamond Creek first, then Ivanhoe
Your VECTRA® 3D scan happens at Diamond Creek first. The Diamond Creek scan can be on the same day as your Ivanhoe appointment or on a different day. If same day, appointments must be at least 4 hours apart so your images are transferred in time.
- 02
Diamond Creek — VECTRA® 3D scan in underwear
At Diamond Creek you have your VECTRA® WB360 scan in underwear. We guide you through the positions required for consistent images.
- 03
Secure transfer of images to Ivanhoe
Our team electronically and securely transfers your Diamond Creek images to Ivanhoe so they are available for your appointment.
- 04
Ivanhoe — 2D mapping + 40-minute doctor skin check
When you arrive at Ivanhoe, we capture digital full skin mapping images and then proceed with your 40-minute doctor-led skin check. You will be given a thick cotton patient gown.
- 05
Arrive with a clean face and clean skin
For the most accurate assessment and best-quality images, remove all makeup (including concealer, foundation and powder) and any tinted products (tinted moisturiser, tinted sunscreen). Remove fake tan and nail polish where possible.
- 06
Wear underwear that allows clear skin visibility
Both 3D mapping (Diamond Creek) and 2D mapping (Ivanhoe) are done in underwear. For men we recommend briefs rather than boxers, which cover more of the upper legs. Bra off is preferred for the mapping photos, but optional — if keeping it on, choose a style that reveals as much skin as possible and try to wear the same bra at future visits for consistent comparison.
- 07
Reschedule by phone if needed
You will receive a reminder 2 days before each appointment. Please confirm when you receive it. If you need to reschedule, call the clinic on (03) 8373 4646 at least 24 hours before your appointment to avoid losing your deposit.

- A list of any spots you specifically want the doctor to check
- Photos of any changing or new spots you have taken at home
- Previous pathology results related to skin cancer or biopsies
- A list of medications, especially immunosuppressants or photosensitising drugs
- Your Medicare card
What to wear
- Comfortable clothing you can change in and out of easily
- Briefs (men) or underwear that allows good visibility of the upper thighs
- No makeup, tinted moisturiser or tinted sunscreen
- Fake tan faded or removed where possible
- Nail polish removed where possible
After your appointment
You can drive home and return to normal activities immediately after the Ivanhoe doctor appointment. If any biopsies were performed on the day, follow the post-biopsy care instructions you will receive. Biopsy results are typically discussed within 7–14 days. Most patients in the combined pathway repeat the Diamond Creek VECTRA® 3D scan every 2–3 years, with annual Ivanhoe 2D mapping and doctor examination in between.
