Which clinic should I choose — Diamond Creek (3D) or Ivanhoe (2D + doctor)?

Both clinics offer the same doctor-led skin check: approximately one hour, including around 40 minutes of head-to-toe examination with a skin cancer physician using HD digital dermatoscopy. The difference is the imaging system that builds your baseline skin “map”:

• Diamond Creek — VECTRA® WB360 3D: 92 calibrated cameras capture your entire skin surface in under a second, creating a complete 3D avatar with every mole and freckle automatically mapped. This is the most advanced pathway we offer — ideal for high-risk patients, high mole counts (often 100+), or anyone wanting the most comprehensive baseline.
• Ivanhoe — 2D mapping + doctor: standardised, high-resolution 2D total-body photographs create your baseline for change-detection over time — the most practical pathway for routine annual surveillance.

Higher-risk patients can combine both through the Advanced High-Risk Program: a 3D scan at Diamond Creek plus 2D mapping and the doctor examination at Ivanhoe.

How much does a skin check cost in Melbourne?

Our fees are published in full, with current figures, on the skin check services & fees page. How the pricing works:

• Skin checks are priced by appointment type — a quick Short Skin Review (20–25 minutes, for previously identified spots or up to three specific spots), a full Skin Cancer Check priced by how many spots need checking (under or over 100), and a longer Extended Skin Review for multiple-lesion follow-up.
• Every published figure is your out-of-pocket cost after the Medicare rebate, which is processed on the spot.
• A booking deposit secures full Skin Cancer Checks and Extended Skin Reviews, and comes off your total on the day.

Do you do mole checks and mole mapping?

Yes. A “mole check” is what happens inside every skin check: your doctor inspects each mole and spot individually with a digital dermatoscope, displayed live on HD screens so you can see what they see.

• One to three specific moles? Book a focused 20-minute Targeted Skin Spot Check rather than a full check.
• Whole-body mole mapping? Choose a full skin check — VECTRA® WB360 3D mole mapping at Diamond Creek, or 2D total-body mapping at Ivanhoe. Either way, your images are stored securely so future checks can detect even subtle changes.
