Quick definition
Body treatment at The Skin Doctor combines medical assessment, advanced laser technology and careful clinical decisions for skin and tissue concerns below the face. Pathways cover moles, lumps and benign lesions (dermoscopy-led), hypertrophic and keloid scars, 4D Fotona body sculpting for collagen-driven firmness and tone, NightLase® for non-surgical snoring treatment, laser treatment of stubborn warts, facial and leg veins, and IntimaLase® for vaginal laxity and intimate wellbeing. The approach is diagnosis-first, treatment-second — and if the right next step is uncertain, the consultation is the starting point.
At The Skin Doctor, body treatments address common medical and aesthetic concerns using evidence-based care, advanced laser technology, and careful clinical assessment. Whether your concern is a benign skin lesion, a scar, persistent warts, body contour, snoring or intimate wellbeing, every pathway begins with accurate diagnosis and a tailored plan.
If you are unsure which option is right for you, start with a consultation and we will guide you to the most appropriate treatment.
Moles, lumps and scarring
Doctor-led assessment and treatment of benign skin lesions and scars. Every lesion is examined under dermoscopy before treatment is considered, and suspicious lesions are prioritised over cosmetic removal.
- Moles, skin lumps & bumps → — radiofrequency, laser or surgical excision after dermoscopic assessment
- Hypertrophic & keloid scars → — scar-modulating injections, prevention strategies and selective laser care
- Scarring treatments → — general scar management including silicone-gel and pressure support
- Laser wart removal → — for plantar, periungual and treatment-resistant warts, sometimes combined with PDT
Body sculpting and skin quality
Gradual, collagen-driven improvement in skin firmness and tone — without surgery, injections or prolonged downtime. Suited to skin softened by ageing, weight change or pregnancy.
- 4D Fotona body sculpting → — Er:YAG and Nd:YAG collagen remodelling for tone and quality, not fat reduction
Vascular — facial and leg veins
Not every vein responds to laser. We start with a doctor-led vascular assessment to map which veins are laser-treatable and which need a different pathway.
- Laser facial & leg veins → — for selected superficial veins after medical evaluation
- Vascular (red-spot) laser → — vascular work for facial redness, telangiectasia and spider veins
Airway — non-surgical snoring treatment
NightLase® is a non-invasive Er:YAG laser treatment that tightens the soft palate and surrounding throat structures to reduce snoring — no cutting, no needles, no anaesthesia. A medical assessment first ensures that conditions like moderate-to-severe obstructive sleep apnoea, which need a different management pathway, are not missed.
Intimate wellbeing
IntimaLase® is an Er:YAG laser treatment for vaginal laxity, dryness, mild stress urinary incontinence and post-childbirth or post-menopausal tissue changes. It encourages collagen remodelling within the vaginal wall — no cutting, no ablation, no needles. A confidential doctor-led consultation comes first.
A doctor-led approach to body care
All body treatments at The Skin Doctor are guided by:
- medical assessment and diagnosis — including dermoscopy for every lesion and vascular evaluation for veins
- careful technology selection — Er:YAG, Nd:YAG, radiofrequency or surgical excision based on the diagnosis, not the device
- realistic, written expectations — particularly for keloid scars, snoring treatment and IntimaLase, where outcomes are sustained improvement rather than a one-off fix
- long-term skin health and safety as the foundation

Frequently asked questions
-
Do you treat moles and benign skin lumps?
Yes — after dermoscopic assessment to confirm the lesion is benign. Suspicious lesions are prioritised over cosmetic removal and may need biopsy or skin cancer review first. Removal options for benign lesions include radiofrequency, laser or surgical excision, chosen based on diagnosis certainty, location, anticipated scarring and cosmetic priority. Every removal is doctor-led. -
Will I need a skin cancer check before a mole or lump is removed?
Often yes — at minimum the lesion itself is examined under dermoscopy, and if anything looks atypical we recommend a skin check or biopsy before cosmetic removal. We do not laser, freeze or shave-excise a lesion that should be examined first. The clinical decision is shaped by your skin cancer risk, family history, and how the lesion looks under the dermatoscope. -
What is 4D Fotona Body Sculpting — and what results can I expect?
4D Fotona Body Sculpting uses Er:YAG and Nd:YAG laser energy to stimulate collagen remodelling in targeted body areas — without surgery, injections, or prolonged downtime. It is designed for firmness, tone and skin quality improvement rather than dramatic fat reduction or transformation. Results develop gradually over weeks to months as collagen rebuilds, making it well-suited to skin softened by ageing, weight change or pregnancy. A consultation is essential to assess suitability and set realistic expectations. -
Are keloid scars treatable, or just managed?
Keloid scars are managed long-term — completely 'curing' a keloid is rare, and aggressive surgery alone usually makes them recur worse. The most successful plans combine prevention strategies (after surgery, piercings or known scar-prone trauma) with scar-modulating injections (intralesional corticosteroid, sometimes 5-FU), selective laser for vascularity and pigmentation, and pressure and silicone-gel support where appropriate. Each plan is staged across months, with realistic expectations set at the consultation. -
What is NightLase®?
NightLase® is a non-invasive Er:YAG laser treatment (SMOOTH® mode) that delivers controlled heating to the soft palate and surrounding throat structures, stimulating collagen contraction and tissue remodelling. The result is firmer tissue, reduced vibration and improved airway stability during sleep — without cutting, needles, anaesthesia or downtime. A course usually involves a series of sessions over several weeks, with snoring improvement developing gradually. A doctor-led assessment is essential to confirm suitability and exclude conditions (e.g. moderate-to-severe obstructive sleep apnoea) that need a different management pathway. -
Is laser effective for stubborn warts?
Yes — particularly for plantar (foot), periungual (around-the-nail) and treatment-resistant warts that have not responded to over-the-counter treatments or repeated cryotherapy. Laser precisely targets wart tissue and the blood supply that sustains it, allowing controlled destruction with minimal damage to surrounding skin. In persistent or multiple warts we may combine laser with photodynamic therapy (PDT) to further reduce viral load and recurrence risk. Treatment is performed after medical assessment to confirm the diagnosis. -
Can leg veins be treated with laser — and what's the assessment process?
Some superficial facial and leg veins respond well to laser; larger, deeper or feeding veins do not and need different management (compression sclerotherapy or referral). The first step is always a doctor-led vascular assessment — sometimes including ultrasound — to map which veins are visible-only and which connect to a deeper system. We are honest about which veins are laser-treatable and which are not. -
What is IntimaLase® — and how is it different from other vaginal treatments?
IntimaLase® is an Er:YAG laser treatment (SMOOTH® mode) for vaginal laxity, dryness, mild stress urinary incontinence and post-childbirth or post-menopausal tissue changes. It encourages collagen remodelling within the vaginal wall using gentle, controlled thermal stimulation — no cutting, no ablation, no needles. Unlike surgical procedures it has minimal downtime; unlike injectables or topical hormones it works through tissue remodelling rather than volume or hormonal supplementation. A confidential doctor-led consultation is essential to assess suitability.
